Notice of meeting

This Notice is posted pursuant to the texas open meeting act. (Vernon’s texas codes) on or before the 7th day of November, 2011, in the city hall at 409 main street, martindale, texas 78655.

The Martindale Historic District and Landmark Commission will conduct a meeting

Thursday, November 10, 2011

 6:30 p.m. at 302 Main Street, Martindale, Texas

AGENDA

1. Call To Order.

2. Roll Call.

3. Public Comment Period. The public is invited to address the commission on any non-agenda item concerning the commission. All speakers must sign in prior to the start of the meeting. Each speaker will have three minutes for his/her comments.

4. Approval of Minutes of the June 14, 2011, meeting.

5.  Discussion, consideration and/or action regarding an application for Certificate of Appropriateness from Sandra Colburn on behalf of the Martindale Baptist Church requesting permission to remove the lettering only from the brick marker (the brick marker will remain) in front of the church at 509 Main Street (N.W. River Road), Martindale, Texas.  Discussion may also include other changes in the church building or property that may be contemplated by the Martindale Baptist Church.

6. Discussion, consideration and/or action regarding an application for Certificate of Appropriateness from Carlton Carl to replace three pairs of canister lights under the sidewalk awning of 413 Main Street, Martindale, Texas (the Crook Store), with three period-appropriate vintage-looking ceiling fans and lights.

7.  Update, discussion, consideration, and/or action on plans for the improved appearance of the 20 ft. x 40 ft. chain link fence enclosure for travel trailer storage at 502 Main Street, Martindale, Texas, (property of Armando Jimenez, Jr.) pursuant to previous action by the Historic Commission.

8.  Discussion, consideration and/or action regarding recommendation to the City Council to fill the existing vacancy on the Historic Commission.

9. Discussion, consideration, and/or action on a revised draft of the Martindale Historic District and Landmark Commission Zoning Ordinance.

10. Discussion, consideration, and/or action on recommending to the Martindale City Council expansion of the Martindale Historic District and Landmark district boundary.

11. Questions from public/press.

12. Adjourn.
