Dear Martindale area residents,

As you may know we have a relatively new two acre park in the City of Martindale. It is located along SE River Road and has been named Allen Bates River Park. This is the first city park in Martindale. The park has many amenities such as a basketball court, playground, swings, picnic tables and grills, trails and public access to the San Marcos River. Allen Bates River Park is becoming the central point of the community and today we ask for your help to expand the park.

The City of Martindale has a wonderful opportunity to add another 1.59 acres to the Allen Bates River Park. We are working to raise $50,000 for the purchase of the adjacent land to expand the park. To make this project a success, the City of Martindale is working collaboratively with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Trust, a local non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization. The Guadalupe-Blanco River Trust is holding the funds until we reach our goal over the next two years, at which time the funds will be transferred to the City of Martindale for the purchase of the park land.

How you can help. Please make a tax-deductable donation to the Guadalupe-Blanco River Trust for the Allen Bates River Park expansion. If you have any questions contact Janaé Reneaud at 830-372-5077 or Susan Schmidt at 512-357-2193.  For more information, visit www.gbrtrust.org. Thank you for your dedication to the growth of Martindale.  I look forward to thanking you in person.

Sincerely,

Susan Schmidt
